2mm Basing Grass

Our 2mm Static Basing Grass (Grass Flock) will help you to create realistic-looking meadows, fields, grassy landscapes and provide a base you can build foliage and even hillsides. Use it to add more depth and texture to landscape or mix it with 1mm static basing grass for even more realism.

Simply place the basing grass to cover your landscape base and then follow our static grass layering system (using our static grass applicators) to build up the perfect scene. So, whether you’re creating a picturesque scene from a Cornish fishing village, or crafting a glorious landscape of the Brecon Beacons, or maybe even an industrial train yard with a dash of greenery, we have everything you need, including:

2MM Autumn Static Grass

A model railroad landscape set in the autumn can be very visually compelling and our 2MM Autumn Static Grass will help you create a rock-solid foundation layer to build it on. With a layer of this 2MM Basing Grass anchoring your landscape you can build it out however you wish. Mix it with different length static grasses to create a wild, unkempt look or sprinkle it on top of your existing grass base to create the impression of a newly cut lawn that has not been raked up yet. Looks equally great whether you use it on a diorama, wargame battleground or model railroad environment.

2MM Static Grass Autumn Leaf Litter

This is must-have material if you want to create a realistic autumnal landscape. It features our 2MM Basing Grass mixed with chips of different fall colours. Sprinkle this around under trees to create the impression of fallen leaves. You’ll cover about 2.5 sq ft with 100 grams of this indispensable Leaf Litter/Static Grass. If you have trees near or around a barn or house in your landscape, sprinkle some of this leaf litter on the roof or around the foundation to give the impression of fallen leaves.

Contact Support

If you email us at customerservice@restore.wwscenics.com straight away after placing the order, we might be able to change or cancel your order. Once your order has been processed however it is not possible to change or cancel it.

Login into your WWScenics account and go to Orders, then click on View your latest order. At the bottom of the page, you will see Tracking Information with the Provider, Tracking number and Date. Click on the Track button in order to track your order on the provider’s website.

Answer...Unfortunately, we do not sell different sized sieve heads for the Micro Applicator. Only the Pro Grand Applicator comes with three different sized sieve heads.

Here are some key things for you to check when applying static grass using our applicator:

Use a powerful brand-new battery (PP3 9V battery).
Do not fill the hopper with too much grass, as the grass needs to have space to move.
Only apply a smear of basing glue on the required area and make sure to apply the basing grass before it dries. Room temperature can affect this.
Do not apply too much basing grass to the area. If you cover the basing glue with too much grass it will not stand but go flat.
Once you have applied the basing grass and cannot see the basing glue anymore, add some layering spray before applying the layering grass.
Make sure the crocodile clip is near the applicator's head when applying the grass. You do not need to put a nail or screw into your model.

Unfortunately, we do not have any stockists in Europe or North America. All our products are sold online and shipped from the UK.
