How to Use Bushes and Hedges for Realistic Effects
Creating realistic model scenery is easy with our wide selection of model bushes and hobby trees. Follow these steps to bring your model railway layout to life:
Select Your Foliage: Choose the right mix of bushes, clump foliage, and hobby trees.
Apply Scenic Glue: Stick foliage onto the surface for a secure hold.
Layer Materials: Mix foliage types for added depth and texture.
Seal Your Work: Use scenic sealant to protect your model plants.
Add Final Touches: Enhance with static grass or flowers for realism.
These simple steps will make your model railway scenery more realistic and engaging.
Customising Hedges and Bushes with Additional Materials
Personalise your model railway with custom bushes and hedges. Combine model train bushes with static grass or flocked foliage to build more natural scenes.
Blending rubberised horsehair with lichen or clump foliage can create dense hedgerows and bushes. Adding hobby trees and classic trees to your layout helps build a more realistic model landscape with varied heights and textures.
Tips for Maintaining and Preserving Your Scenery
Proper care of your model bushes and hobby trees keeps your railway layout looking fresh. Here are some simple ways to protect your scenery:
Seal with Scenic Spray: Helps model trees and bushes stay in place.
Store in Dry Areas: Keeps model plants and foliage from getting damaged.
Handle with Care: Prevents breakage of delicate branches and leaves.
Replace Worn Foliage: Refresh your model landscape as needed.
These tips ensure your model railway scenery stays realistic and vibrant for years to come.

Answer...Unfortunately, we do not sell different sized sieve heads for the Micro Applicator. Only the Pro Grand Applicator comes with three different sized sieve heads.
Here are some key things for you to check when applying static grass using our applicator:
Use a powerful brand-new battery (PP3 9V battery).
Do not fill the hopper with too much grass, as the grass needs to have space to move.
Only apply a smear of basing glue on the required area and make sure to apply the basing grass before it dries. Room temperature can affect this.
Do not apply too much basing grass to the area. If you cover the basing glue with too much grass it will not stand but go flat.
Once you have applied the basing grass and cannot see the basing glue anymore, add some layering spray before applying the layering grass.
Make sure the crocodile clip is near the applicator's head when applying the grass. You do not need to put a nail or screw into your model.
Click-and-Collect is not yet available. However, you can still place an order and collect it by contacting us at customerservice@wwscenics.com
