Resin Scatter

Resin vs FDM

FDM or fused deposition modeling is a popular way to create landscape miniatures. They typically have a lower upfront cost than resin-printed miniatures but the detailing and overall quality is simply not up to the standard set by resin.

FDM miniatures tend to have a cartoonish look, which is fine in and of itself, but when contrasted with the high degree of realistic detail in model trains it creates a visual disconnect that undermines the believability of the model landscape.
